Porto Alegre con rafael

Bonjour,
Goa a enchaine 2 bus de nuit vers Florianapolis au Bresil. Entre les deux, avec les francais croises a Colonia, il a passe une journee delirante chez Rafael, un bresilien super marrant croise dans le metro. Les bresiliens ont un accueil incroyable, nous avons visite la ville, fait la fete et joue de la musique alors qu on ne se connaissait pas, en somme une fete delirante en pleine journee, enfin ce matin Goa est arrive Florianapolis une ile tropicale assez jolie malgre les prix eleves, Goa tente d ailleurs de se mettre au portugais, qu il comprend mais qui ne reste pas simple pour le parler.

Hi, 
Goa did 2 night buses to Florianapolis in Brazil. Between it with the 2 french he met in Colonia he had  great day with Rafael form Brazil. The brazilians are really nice and open minded, we just met in the metro and then were invited to play music and do a great day party in his flat and to explore the city also. After a while Goa is not in a nice and quite expensive tropical island. Goa is trying to learn portuguese, he understands it but it s not easy to hold a conversation,

Monvideo Uruguay

Goa a fait une etape a Montevideo la capitale Uruguayenne. Sur la route les paysages ressemblent etonnament a la Charente et a l Aquitaine, la ville etant sur un estuaire face a Buenos Aires! Cette ville doit son nom a la colline qui la surplombe et offre un beau point de vue. La peripherie de la ville est assez pauvre mais la ville, sans cachet exceptionnel, a un centre historique sympa (assez delabre mais en renovation), en particulier son vieux marche central et quelques belles places et surtout des habitants tres sympas toujours le mate a la main. Seul bemol, comme souvent en amerique latine, des immeubles hideux font face a des monuments historiques. Ensuite, avec les deux francais croises a Colonia, Goa a pris un verre avec deux habitantes de la ville, particulierement jolies comme en Argentine. Nous partons ce sopir a Porto Alegre au Bresil pour les plages tropicales ensuite.

Goa did a short break in the Uruguayan capital Montevideo. On the way, the landscape really reminds Charente en Aquitaine in France, the estuary and the climate are so similar. Buenos Aires is on the other shore. The name of coty comes fromthe iewpoint from hill above the city. The suburbs are quite poor. despite it s not beautiful, there is a nice old but in renovation process colonial city center. The best attraction is the old market and some squres, and the kindness of the inhabitants here, always with the mate thermos in the hand! Just a default like in many south american cities, ugly buildings stands in front of historic monuments quite often. Then with the french he met in Colonia Goa tooka glass with two Uruguayan girls, and the women here are amazingly beautiful, like in Argentina.

Goa a quitte avec nostalgie la trepidante Buenos Aires en bateau et traverse le Rio de la Plata, estuaire de 50 kms! le plus large du monde. L Argentine est en tout cas un pays genial et incroyablement varie, a faire absolument avec du temps ou en plusieurs voyages car il y a enormement de choses a voir et a faire la bas. Arrive sur la rive nord, en Uruguay, Goa est revenu 500 ans en arriere a Colonia, petite ville coloniale portugaise (puis espagnole)  magnifique. C est assez irreel que le temps se soit arrete ici, a quelques pas de Buenos Aires. La ville classee UNESCO a un cachet fou, en plus d etre reposante et de ses habitants tres sympas. Les Uruguayiens sont tres agreables et calmes, leur signe distinctinf est le thermos de mate (sorte de the) qu ils ont en permanence avec eux, encore plus que les argentins. le pays es l un des plus riches et modernes d Amerique latine. Goa a aussi croise des francais biens sympas et a fait un tour de buggy dans la ville, moment assez drole. Colonia est vraiment a voir et facile d acces en plus.

With nostlagy Goa left the great Buenos Aires and crossed by boat the Rio del Plata, the biggest world´s estuary (50 kms). Argentina is really a great country, with great people and a huge landscape variety. Its better to travel it for a long period or in several times, there is so much to see there and to to do also. Ariived in the north shore of the river, Goa came back 500 years in Colonia, a beautiful and tiny former Portuguese (then Spanish Colony). It s a kind of irreal that the times seems to have stpoed in this UNESCO city, so close to Buenos Aires. Colonia is really charming, quiet and typical, with really nice population. The Uruguayans are really quiet and friendly, they always carry a mate thermos (local tea), more than the Argentinians. Uruguay is one of the richest and most developped country in latin America. Goa also met fun french people and enjoyed a funny buggy tour in the city. Colonia is a must see, really nice and accessible.

Buenos Aires couleur locale/with locals

Nous avons pris un vol avec un peu de retard et regagne Buenos Aires, revisite Puerto Madero sous le soleil et fait un tour de ville. Ensuite a Palermo un quartier branche, un peu cher mais sympa, nous avons par hasard retrouve Johanna, Diana et leurs amies portenos qui nous avaient fait le tour de ville il y a 2 semaines. L Argentine est ainsi, alors que la soiree s annoncait calme, nous avons passe un moment assez genial dans plusieurs boliche (boites de nuit et bars dansants). Les Argentins sont tres fetards et sortent vers 2/3h du matin... Les Argentines vraiment tres belles et sympas. Carlos est reparti sur Paris le lendemain, Goa est vraiment heureux des 15 jours exceptionnels passes dans des sites incroyables et dans une ambience sympa, apres plus de  20 ans d amitie. Goa a ensuite eu la chance de visiter Tigre, le delta du fleuve Rio del Plata qui longe la ville, une sorte de Mekong local avec ses amies portenos et Jose, le Bresilien croise a El Chalten. Goa a aussi profite de concerts exceptionnels et de festivals de Tango a Sen Telmo, le Montmarter local, quartier historique hyper anime le dimanche. Buenos Aires est vraiment tres sympa comme ville, et la visiter avec des locaux revele des milliers de secrets inattendus.

We took a plane that was a little late and visited again the Puerto Madero area and the city center with a great sun this time. Then we came in Palermo a posh but really nice area and by coincidence we met agaon Johanna, Diana and the girls from Buenos Aires we met 2 weeks ago. Buenos Aires is like this, we expected a quit evening and we were invited to a great boliche party (disco and dancing pubs). The Argentinans are really (late in the evening) party people and the girls are cute and really friendly... Carlos left then to Paris, It was really fun to visit great places in a good atmospehre with a 20th old friendship. Then Goa was invited by the girls and Jose the Brazilian friend from El Chalten to visit Tigre in the Rio del Plata Delta (the huge river around Buenos Aires), it s a king of local Mekong, quite nice. Goa also enjoyed great tnago shows and concerts in the local Montmartre, San Telmo, really great on Sundays. Buenos Aires is really a cool place, morever when locals show you great hidden places.

Misiones: San Ignacio

Nous avons fait une tres longue route vers les tres belles ruines de la mission jesuite de San Ignacio, Le decor couleur ocre partiellement recouvert de jungle rappelle le temple de Banti Srey a Angkor. Les missions ont ete crees aux alentours de 1700 et ont dure une centaine d annees a cheval sur le Paraguay, le Bresil et l Argentine. Il s agissait de microvilles utopiques ou quelques rares religieux jesuites (un ordre cree en Espagne et dissous par la suite) ont evangelise les indiens Guarani et tente de creer des societes cooperatives pour les occidentaliser tout en les protegeant de l esclavage. leur ont fait produire des objets d art exceptionnels. Par la suite pour des raisons politiques et economiques, le Vatican a dissous cet ordre et les 30 reducciones sud americaines ont ete detruites. C est un exemple tres interessant de societe alternative qui a permis le metissage des cultures europeenne et Guarani. Cette langue est ce pan hostrique sont des elements majeurs de l histoire du Paraguay.

We did a long ride to visit the really nice ruins of the Jesuit mission of San Ignacio. The ocre coloeur and the jungle that came back above the ruins really remains Goa the Banti Srey Temple in Angkor. The Missiones were created around 1700 by the Jesuit order (founded in Spain and the abolished later). The 30 missiones were located in Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina. It was a kind of utopic mini cities were the priest evenagelized and tried to occidentalize them but also to preserve their culture and save them from slavery. The native indians Guarani, produced artefacets with a great level of quality. Later political and economical interests made the Vatican to stop the missions and the reducciones were destroyed and abandonned. This interesting exmaple show an alternative development that mixed the european and Guarani cultures. It s also the main fact of the history of Paraguay, and today they still speak Guarani.

Foz do Iguazu en Brazil/ Puerto Iguazu Argentina

Goa et Carlos ont fait un tres long trajet de nuit pour rejoindre Puerto Iguacu, la frontiere du Bresil, du Paraguay et de l Argentine. Nous avons trouve une auberge sympa avec piscine. Notre premiere journee a ete la visite des chutes du Cote bresilien, impressionant! Le site est tres etendu, il y a des milliers de cascades sur plusieurs etages dans une jungle luxuriante avec paillons, coatis (sorte de tapirs), rapaces... Les spectacle est rellement magique, les chutes plus belles que celles du Niagara (que Goa a visite en 2000). Le lendemain le cote Argentin s est avere encore plus magique, plus sauvage aussi, nous avons meme ete sous les chutes et douches dans un bateau. La balade est ireelle et le volume d eau impressionnant ) la saison des pluies est terminee depuis peu, le clou du spectacle etant le cratere de la Gorge du Diable. Il y avait aussi des Arcs en Ciel magnifiques avec le soleil de ce lieu tropical. Les deux visites sont complementaires mais cette facade nous a litteralement immerges dans les chutes, c est surment le plus beau spectacle de la nature que Goa a vu dans sa vie, un veritable jardin d eden.

Goa and Cralos took a long night bus to head the common border of Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina in the huge Iguazu Falls. We found a nice histel with swimming pool. The first day we visited the brazilian side of the falls, in a wild jungle landsacope with butterflies, coatis (like tatoo) and huge birds like condors. The place is really beautiful and offers a global panorama over the falls.  There are many falls on several levels. It s a must do, the show is better than Niagara that Goa saw in 2000. Then we visited the Argentinan side of the falls, so magic and much wilder, we even took a boat )and a shower) below the falls. It s like in a dream for the landscape and the volume of water is so huge, mainly because we are just out of the rain season now. The must is the Devil s Throat a huge gap and all the rainbows we saw alongside this tropical trail. The two visits are complementary and it s maybe the best natural place Goa saw in his life, a little heaven.

Salta/Jujuy

Goa tient tout d abord a feliciter son frere et sa belle soeur pour la naissance de sa 4e niece. Salta est une ville tres tranquille et sympa, de style coloniale au milieu de vallees tres vertes, la population y  est adorable et plus andine que le reste du pays. Nous avons visite  sa place centrale avec de belles arcades, la colline surplombant  la ville et quelques musees. Ensuite nous avons pris une excursion  vers la Quebrada de Huamamarca. C est un supebre cayon dont les montagnes sont un  festival de couleurs. Plus on monte en altitude et plus le paysage change vite: foret tropicale (nous avons traverse le Tropique du Capricorne), puis paysages de cactus et enfin de haute montagne. Nous avons traverse un village tres typique, Pumamarca avec une colline multicolore, visite la Pucara (forteresse Inca) de Tilcara et le village de Huamamarca. La soir nous sommes restes a Jujuy, ville pas exceptionnelle mais aux locaux tres sympas, Goa  et Carlos ont rejoint Natalia,  une adorable habitante de la ville croisee au Machu Picchu. Enfin le lendemain nous avons pris une voiture pour Explorer Las Salinas Grandes a 4170M d altitude apres une route spectaculaire... Enfin le jour suivant, nous avons visite Cachi, le village est sympa mais surtout sa route  d acces avec les catcus est sublime. Le paysage est grandiose, different de Uyuni ou Atacama, ce salar vaut vraiment le detour si vous allez dans le coin. Nous avons avant le depart vers Iguacu retrouve Adriana croisee a El Chalten, moment simple mais intense.

Bedore all, Goa want to congratulate his brother and sister in law for the birth of his 4th niece today. Salta is a really nice city., The population is really nice and much more andean than the rest of Argentina. We discovered the centralplace of Salta and its monuments, churches with a colonial style and some museums. Then we took a tour to the fabulous quebraba de Huamamarca. It s beautiful canyon with multicolored moutains. The scenery changes with the altitude, tropical forest(we crossed the Capricorn tropic) , then a huge catcus and dry moutains area. We enjoyed a really typical village Pumamarca with its 7 colors hill,  visited the Pucara (fortress) of Tilcara and the Huamamarca village. we stayed the night in Jujuy, not excpetionnalbut with friendly locals. Goa and Carlos had a great diner with the cute and friendly Natalia (an habitant of Jujuy) that Goa  met in  Machu Picchu. And after we took a car to discover las Salinas Grandes ,a huge Salar, really scenic after a spectacular road to climb until 4170 m. The last day we visited the Cahi, the village is OK, the best being the great road to get there. This Salar is great and despite it sdifferent from Atacama and Uyuni it s really  a  must see iof you go in the Area. Before leaving to Iguacu, we met Adriana, that Goa saw in El Chalten, it was a short but an intensive time.
