Santiago capitale immense

Bonjour,

Hi,
Goa enjoyed the visit of the huge Santiago, capital of Chile. The first day, left late Goa was in a quite sad hostel despite the barbecue, it was also full of Germans/English people. Then Goa moved to a much better district, Bellavista, the bohemian heart of Santiago, close to Monte San Christboal (850m) that offers a great view and gives and idea of the scale of the city, stuck between mountains and the Andes. The earthquakes didn t let unfortunately more than 3/4 colonial houses, but the great parcs and the life like the great fish market (Goa at a great seafood plate), despite the modern buildings, is really cool here. And there are some museums. It s also really warm here. Goa decided to rest and enjoy 1 more day in the hostel that is really great: big terrace and guitar available. And it will help to organize the transfer to Argentina and Mendoza.

Valparaiso/Vina del Mar

Bonjour,
Goa

Hi,
Goa really enjoyed Valparaiso, a nice port close to Santiago. It was really strong before the opnening of the Panama Channel, all the boats were transiting here. After a decadency century, since the Unesco Label the Ceros (Hills that forms the city) a renovation program is made and it s really typical. Also the place is much more friendly than la Serena or Caldera, Goa met many people in the guest House, and made fun party with Andres from Argentina The old elevators add a lot of charm in the atmosphere. Goa also visited a great house of the Litterature Nobel awarded Pablo Neruda. This Poet has a great art of living and his house is a great museum. Then Goa visited the neighborhood city of Vina Del Mar, quite posh one the shore. No major interest, parcs and museums were closed on Monday. And In Valparaiso Goa had a great time and party with Vicente, a local he met in Salar deUyuni. Goa later made a step antother Pablo Nerdua s great house on the shore of Isla Negra and followed the wineyards to reach Santiago.

La Serena, Valle del Elqui, Vicuna, Observatoires/observatory

Bonjour,

Hi,
Goa left in Serena, the neo-classicarchitcectural city of the shore of the Pacific. The historic center is really nice with some nice buildings and a great seafood (and some nice beaches). The Arecheological museum displays a beautiful Moai, the famous giants of the Christmas Island (Rapa Nui) that was shown in Bordeaux in the 1990s. Goa found also a cool guest House(casa Amaya) with a firecamp, a Hamoc. Then Goa visited the wine region of Vallee del Elqui under a difficult heat. The famous Chilian wines are is realty produced in a surprisingly dry area, with also the famous Pisco (also found in Peru) and many fruit trees (avocado, papayas...)! Goa even tried the sun oven cooked food. And this area named Coliguaz is famed to be a magnetic center of the Earth, that let you meet fun crazy people! The tour also included a great star observatory in one the puerest skies on the earth.

Caldera y Baia Inglesa

Hola!
Goa.

Hi!
Goa made a short break in the Chilian Coast: The arrivbal at 6 am in a highway service area was quite dark, but then Goa took a taxi the minor and fishermen port of Caldera in the middle of the desert. Like in Peru, the cold martitime current Humbolt dries the coast, the couterpart is pelicans and great fishes. After eating a great fish (daurada), Goa was burnt by then sun and enjoyed a bath in the Baia Inglesa Beach, one of the best in Chile, despite there is +/- no vegetation around. Caldera has some nice monuments and one of it is for the French maritime plorator Cousteau (he nvented the scuba diving equipement)!
